For this next addition of Get the Vintage Look, I am highlighting one of the most famous wedding dresses of all time, Grace Kelly’s stunning lace gown. Obviously, I couldn’t do a vintage gown series without bringing this beauty up!
The lace sleeve gown Grace Kelly wore to her wedding to Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1956 is nothing short of iconic. Designed by MGM costume designer Helen Rose, it represents the epitome of classic bridal style. Her look is a popular one of emulate, most recently (and notoriously) Kate Middleton’s wedding gown which was said to be inspired by it.
The closest look alike to the Grace Kelly wedding classic I could find was the Katrina gown from Rosa Clara. It has the high rounded collar, long sleeves and lots of lace, just like the original.
If what you love most about the gown is the long lace sleeves, here are a few of my favorites. This is perfect if you are having a winter wedding or a more religious ceremony and need to cover up.
Another favorite feature of Grace Kelly’s gown is the wide cumber bun-like waist band. It is great if you are wanting to flatter your mid-section.

One of my favorite parts about Grace Kelly’s gown is the billowy satin silk skirt. It is such an elegant look.
If you are a fan of Grace’s lacey high neckline, here are two fabulous choices. This high neck look is not very common, but is totally sophisticated and chic.

Instead of a tiara (which was expected for a royal wedding), Grace chose a juliet style veil that was popular for the day. Below are a few of my picks that capture the lace trimmed vintage look.
